- Create a way for Latino Connection to offer awards and recognize people and companies
- Highlight sponsors of the event
- Create a memorable guest experience that will bring them back again and again
OBJECTIVES:
- To bring together Latino-American professionals from across the United States and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- To recognize businesses and corporations for their ongoing efforts to advocate and empower Latino-American initiatives.
- To create a memorable experience that will encourage attendees to return and bring others.
Decor and Ballroom Transformation
The theme was a festive night in Rio De Janeiro with a focus on music, arts, culture, and live entertainment. Guests entered via a purple carpet while searchlights crisscrossed the entryway, adding flash and dazzle. These exterior accouterments signaled that this night was unlike any other. The ballroom was transformed into a sophisticated Brazilian dance club using uplights, moving lights and pin spots. Costumed dancers performed on multiple stages to entertain the guests. Shumaker provided color and textured lighting to highlight a cultural dance number as part of the main presentation. Later, these lights expanded to fill the room inviting guests to join in the celebration.
The stage backdrop was designed with beading to catch the light, creating a shimmering background for the evening festivities. Other decor elements, including lighted luminary bars, added a festive glow to the ballroom.
Awards Ceremony and Sponsor Recognition
With over 500 people in attendance, the awards ceremony recognized and honored those who had gone above and beyond to make a difference in the Latino-American community. Over ten organizations were recognized. Video projection and screens for IMAG and large flat screen LCD displays in the hotel lobby created a visual representation for these organizations. Custom GOBOs projected sponsor logos on the wall in the hotel lobby and ballroom to provide additional recognition and branding for corporate sponsors. Audio and video provided by Shumaker allowed attendees to see and hear the presentations clearly. Shumaker installed a step and repeat photo background accented with a red carpet to provide a photo opportunity to help Latino Connection recognize award winners and sponsors.
