OBJECTIVES:
- To create an enticing environment that inspires guests to donate to their favorite nonprofit organization
- To celebrate the Lancaster community and the work that is done by the local nonprofit sector
- Build excitement for giving by lighting the iconic Griest Building
A Celebration of Giving
Shumaker partnered with the Lancaster County Community Foundation which hosts the Extraordinary Give, a special day of fundraising that occurs annually and is dedicated to giving back to the community. It is extraordinary that in 2018 over 10 million dollars was raised in one day for over 500 nonprofit organizations. This event is truly unique because it is a county-wide event with complex elements and focused entirely on supporting the community by raising money for charity. Shumaker provided event management and lighting, video, audio and coordinated with Atomic Design, to create an inspiring environment for attendees.
ExtraGive FEST
The ExtraGive FEST is an incredible party held at the Lancaster Marriott in Penn Square for over 2,000 people from the community. Shumaker provided audio for live bands in two rooms on three performance stages and amplified the party vibe through the use of dramatic moving lights for the dance floor. Video wall columns flanked the stages giving branding opportunities to sponsors. We installed a large ticker above the stage to show the live total amount raised over the course of the evening, providing excitement and a sensational guest experience. TVs stationed throughout the hotel displayed the current amount of money raised and also featured a live scrolling stream of aggregated social media content using TINT’s curation software. A red carpet step and repeat photo backdrop that Shumaker created allowed guests to create a memory of the evening to carry with them.
Exterior Street Decor and Lighting
Our team installed lights in the iconic 14-story Griest Building on Lancaster’s city square that could be viewed from outside. Every window in the Griest Building was internally lit creating a visual art installation that could be seen for miles. Each fixture was individually controlled, and as giving increased over the course of the evening, the colored lights flashed and danced out the evening’s success. This required us to contact every tenant, get the necessary permits and develop a logistics plan to minimize disruptions in offices in the building. Outside the entrance to the Marriott, Shumaker installed a large Airstar balloon with the ExtraGive logo. Throughout the city, the Shumaker team installed directional signage to indicate additional party locations.
