Project Spotlight

Schreiber Center for Pediatric Development is a nationally recognized pediatric facility that provides family-centered education and therapy programs for infants, children and adolescents with disabilities, developmental delays, and acquired injuries.

Founded in 1936, the organization has been a shining beacon of hope for countless families facing the unique challenges of pediatric developmental disorders as a place where dreams are nurtured, potential is unlocked, and children are empowered to thrive despite their hurdles. After a short hiatus due to COVID, the Rubber Duckie Race & Festival returned to Lancaster County Central Park and the Shumaker PDT team was tasked to manage event logistics, coordinate the installation of tenting provided by Hess Tent Rental, and worked with other community partners to release thousands of rubber duckies into the Conestoga River.

The Rubber Duckie Race & Festival has become a tradition in the Lancaster community, bringing together families and friends for an afternoon of fun-filled activities while contributing to a worthy cause. Every year the Schreiber Center provides nearly $2 million in uncompensated care to Central Pennsylvania children, and this event raises funds to offset those costs.
